The Applied Book Club · Relaunching soon

Read fewer books.
Actually use the ones you do.

A small monthly circle. One impactful book, read deeply, discussed carefully, then turned into an action plan we implement before touching the next one. Depth over breadth. Change over consumption.

Relaunching as The Applied Book Club. Waitlist members are invited first, get the first month free, and pick the first book.

You’re on the list. We’ll be in touch.

How it works

Four weeks,
one book at a time

01

A book a month.

A carefully chosen business book, or a non-business book applied to business, broken into weekly parts. Nothing trendy, nothing thin.

02

Read, digest, discuss.

Three weeks of reading the assigned section, posting a one-paragraph reflection, and discussing it live with a small group of operators.

03

Turn it into action.

The fourth week is the difference. We convert the book into a concrete action plan for each member’s business: specific changes, by a specific date, accountable to a specific peer.

04

No moving on without acting.

Most reading is consumption. This club is the opposite: implement first, accumulate second. A book you didn’t use changed nothing.

Past reading

Books we’ve
actually used

From the previous club, Local Business Hustlers (2020–2023). Every title here produced a real change in at least one member’s business.

Built to Sell

John Warrillow

The systems that make a business sellable. Mostly: stop being the bottleneck.

The E-Myth Revisited

Michael Gerber

Working on the business vs. in it. Quoted constantly, rarely applied. We applied it.

Traction

Gino Wickman

The EOS framework. Two members rebuilt their org chart the month we read this.

Atomic Habits

James Clear

Applied not to the owner, but to the team: the systems that keep showing up daily.

Shop Class as Soulcraft

Matthew B. Crawford

Out of category, on purpose. The dignity of the work we actually do.

Deep Work

Cal Newport

On guarding the few hours of the week that actually move the business.

The new format is small on purpose: tighter, hosted on its own platform, not in another inbox.
